Worth the Wait

Country ham.



Today is Sunday and we are at home just before our live streamed church service at Mercy Hill. We decided it was time for something special to treat the Grandkids. They have been amazing having to stay at home due to Covid19 and have helped us so much on the farm!!


We opened just one of the four has that we have hanging. It is a little early. We would have left it until August, but we all needed a little something for excitement. Over a year ago, we salted and smoked 4 hams from our pigs. After weeks in the salt box, we covered them with pepper to keep out the critters, wrapped them in paper and hung them in a pillow case in our outdoor kitchen.


It was delicious!!!!
